Game Schedules & Information
Schedules will be posted once registration is finalized and teams are formed.
Please keep in mind that adjustments may happen due to weather, field conditions, or other circumstances.
We do our best to avoid changes and appreciate your flexibility when they are necessary.
Weather Guidelines
AYSO plays in most weather conditions, including cold and light rain.
However, games must stop immediately for thunder or lightning.
Carson City conditions can vary, especially in early spring and late fall.
Please dress players appropriately. Coaches may shorten or end games early if conditions become unsafe.
Air Quality & Fire Season
During wildfire season, air quality is closely monitored. If the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaches
150 or higher near Edmonds Sports Complex, games will be paused or canceled.
Please check for updates on days when smoke is present.
Short-Sided Matches
If teams are short on players, games can still be played in a way that keeps things fair and fun.
-
Teams may play short-sided (fewer players on each team), with adjustments like shorter periods if needed.
-
Teams may also share players to balance numbers. The priority is always getting kids on the field and playing.
Make-Up Games
If a game is missed due to weather or availability, teams can coordinate a make-up game.
The region will help secure a field, but scheduling is handled between the teams.
Referees
AYSO games rely on volunteer referees. The home team is typically the center referee; the away teams referee serves as the AR on the coach side to track substitutions on game cards.
At younger divisions, refereeing is focused on keeping the game safe, fair, and moving.
Most contact is unintentional, and the goal is to guide play rather than over-control it.
Teams may share referees if needed, and youth referees are always encouraged.
Early in the season, coaches may step in until volunteer referees are in place.
Game schedules will be available through your AYSO account once finalized.
